Job description

About the Opportunity

This is a great opportunity for an early-career engineer or recent graduate who enjoys working hands‑on with CAD models, manufacturing data, and process documentation. The role was created to better balance workload across the engineering team and will focus heavily on data handling, modeling, and manufacturing support, while more senior engineers manage quoting and advanced job planning.

If you’re someone who enjoyed internships or co‑ops in manufacturing and wants to continue building strong technical fundamentals in a real‑world production environment, this role offers excellent exposure and mentorship.

What You’ll Do
  • Create, validate, and maintain manufacturing models and CAD data using 2D drawings, scan data, and specifications
  • Support manufacturing teams with post‑PO technical assistance related to materials, subcontracting, and production readiness
  • Assist with process design and optimization for machining and contract manufacturing projects
  • Prepare and maintain accurate engineering documentation, including CAD files, drawings, and controlled data
  • Perform data entry and maintenance in ERP systems, including detailed routings and bills of material
  • Participate in design reviews with internal teams and customers to ensure manufacturability and quality alignment
  • Research materials, features, and manufacturing methods to support feasibility and continuous improvement
  • Collaborate cross‑functionally to resolve design‑related or manufacturability challenges
  • Stay current on emerging manufacturing technologies, materials, and design tools
  • Support safety, quality, and continuous improvement initiatives on the shop floor
What We’re Looking For
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or similar
  • 2+ years of experience in process engineering, estimating, or manufacturing support
  • Strong CAD skills with a desire to work heavily in modeling and data
  • Solid understanding of machining fundamentals, blueprint reading, and GD&T
  • Comfortable working with manufacturing data, ERP systems, and detailed documentation
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative, team‑oriented mindset
  • Detail‑oriented, organized, and eager to learn in a production environment
Nice to Have (Not Required)
  • Exposure to CNC machining or contract manufacturing environments
  • Experience with 3D modeling, Siemens NX, or Powermill
  • ERP experience
  • Familiarity with ITAR or controlled manufacturing environments
Why This Role Makes Sense Early in Your Career
  • Heavy hands‑on exposure to CAD, manufacturing data, and real production workflows
  • Clear role focus — not overloaded with quoting or senior‑level responsibilities
  • Opportunity to grow alongside experienced engineers and build strong fundamentals
  • Stable manufacturing environment with meaningful technical work from day one
