Job summary
Cleveland-Cliffs is seeking a Process Control Engineering Intern in New Carlisle, IN to work with engineering and operations leaders on real-world automation and control projects. You will contribute to software development, hardware maintenance, and system improvements across plant environments.
The role involves process modeling, diagnostic tasks, and close coordination with a production team to ensure reliability and efficiency.
Qualifications
- Enrollment in a Bachelor of Science program in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related technical degree.
- Completion of sophomore year by the summer of 2027.
Responsibilities
- Software development across programming languages and hardware platforms.
- Maintenance of computer hardware and software.
- Maintenance and problem solving of automation system components.
- Modifications to automation to adapt to new products and processes.
- Address issues that may impact production or system reliability.
- Process modeling for mill processes of chemical, metallurgical and mechanical nature.
- Administration of operating systems and relational databases on workstations and servers.
- Work with complex measurement systems including vision, thermal imaging, RFID/barcode, X-ray/gauges.
- Coordinate with production and extend vendor collaborations.
