Job summary

Southern Recruiting Solutions, Inc. is seeking a Process Controls Engineer to support plant instrumentation and control systems, including Siemens PCS7 and legacy platforms. You will troubleshoot, upgrade projects, and maintain OT architecture while updating P&IDs and diagrams. Training engineers and operators is part of the role.

Relocation provided; candidates must be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Qualifications

• BS degree in EE/ChE/CS or related field; associates considered.
• Understanding of P&IDs and Process Flow Diagrams; electrical diagrams.
• 2+ years' experience programming DCS systems (Siemens PCS7, DeltaV, etc.).
• Ability to troubleshoot process control loops and systems.
• Demonstrated project management experience.
• Availability to resolve urgent system problems outside business hours.
• High level of proficiency with SAP, Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Must be legally eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on support for plant instrumentation and control systems (Siemens PCS7 and legacy platforms).
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, and OT network issues to ensure reliable plant operations.
• Lead and support control system upgrade projects from planning to commissioning.
• Configure and maintain OT system architecture, including servers, networks, remote I/O, and HMI graphics.
• Maintain and update engineering documentation such as P&IDs, network hierarchies, loop diagrams, and drawings.
• Train engineers and operators on control systems, functionality, and safety protocols.

• The Process Controls Engineer will provide hands-on support for plant instrumentation and control systems, including Siemens PCS7 and legacy platforms (Moore, Eurotherm, Modbus, etc.).
• Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and OT network issues to ensure reliable and continuous plant operations.
• Lead and support control system upgrade projects, from planning and design to installation and commissioning.
• Configure and maintain OT system architecture, including servers, networks (Profinet/Profibus), remote I/O, and HMI graphics.
• Maintain and update engineering documentation such as P&IDs, network hierarchies, loop diagrams, and general arrangement drawings.
• Train engineers and operators on control systems, functionality, and safety protocols.

REQUIREMENTS

• The Process Controls Engineer will have a BS degree in electrical engineering, chemical engineering, or computer science or related field; associates considered.
• Understanding of P&IDs and Process Flow Diagrams; understanding of electrical elementary and loop diagrams.
• 2+ years' experience programming DCS systems (Siemens PCS7, DeltaV, etc.).
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot process control loops and systems.
• Demonstrated project management experience.
