Job summary

Omya Alabama operations seeks a qualified electrical/automation engineer to advance plant performance across energy and process control. This role focuses on leading improvements, monitoring equipment and energy use, and driving safety initiatives within Omya 4.0 framework.

The ideal candidate has a university degree in Electrical/Automation Engineering, at least five years of relevant experience, and strong communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and sites

Responsibilities

• Lead process improvement and control as an Omya 4.0 member to enhance energy cost, quality, and controls.
• Participate in actions to improve equipment and energy monitoring.
• Participate in plant audits related to Omya 4.0, energy, instrumentation, and power.
• Investigate new technology to improve plant safety (Intelligent PPE, improved alarming).

Key Accountabilities

• Process Improvement and Control: Be Omya 4.0 active member. Participate in actions/solutions to improve process control, reduce energy costs, and improve quality.
• Participate in actions/solutions to improve equipment monitoring and energy monitoring.
• Participate in plant audits related to Omya 4.0, energy, instrumentation, and power.
• Investigate new technology to improve plant safety (Intelligent PPE, improved alarming, etc.).

Knowledge Sharing & Expertise

• Support CCs in developing budgets, Project Charters and mentoring Energy CC, Instrumentation CC, Power CC, Omya 4.0 CC.
• Provide support to the GOP Engineering team.
• Responsible for know-how transfer, best practices, and supporting the development of Group standards and guidelines.
• Support UNO initiatives with process and automation teams.

Environmental Health & Safety

Be in accordance with safety and environmental regulations.

Other Requirements

Good command of both oral and written local language and English are required. Good command of both oral and written additional language is beneficial. Travel required to regions, plants, suppliers sites. Confident in international settings.

Education

University Degree in Electrical and/or Automation Engineering.

Experience
