Job summary

ON-Board Services is seeking a Process/Mechanical Engineering Owner’s Representative to support manufacturing facilities in Boise, ID. You will review designs, specs and drawings, provide feedback, and drive the design to construction document readiness on behalf of the client.

The role interfaces with client and site personnel, guiding design packages and construction document reviews within a fast-paced environment. Remote work with periodic onsite Boise visits required.

Qualifications

• Bachelors in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering from ABET-accredited program.
• Minimum 5 years applying wastewater treatment facilities engineering and related chemical/mechanical facilities experience.
• 3+ years in design project delivery processes and experience with complex semiconductor tools (preferred).
• Ability to lead, coordinate across multi-disciplinary teams and communicate clearly with clients and site personnel.
• Experience reviewing specifications, P&IDs, drawings, vendor submittals and construction documents.

Responsibilities

• Establish design requirements and produce construction documents for installation of complex manufacturing tools and facilities infrastructure mechanical systems.
• Design oversight for piping and equipment related to water, wastewater, and process chemicals.

Overview / Summary

As the facilities Process/Mechanical Engineering Owner’s Representative, you will work on projects that enable the heart of our clients’ manufacturing in Boise, ID. You and the other team members will work closely with client owners in a fast-paced, dynamic environment – in this role you would work on the client’s behalf to review designs, specs and drawings – provide feedback and comment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for interfacing with client and site personnel, driving design and construction documents through the review process with a team.

Primary duties include the following

• You and the other team members will work closely with client owners in a fast-paced, dynamic environment to establish design requirements and produce construction documents for the installation of complex manufacturing tools and facilities infrastructure mechanical systems.
• Technical engineering responsibilities include design and oversight for piping and equipment for water, wastewater, and process chemicals in some of the most complex, densely packed industrial facilities on the planet. The design may include retrofit of existing building systems including engineering calculations, equipment and component sizing, selection, and specification, and support during construction and integration into the factory.
• As the Process chemical/mechanical representative on a multi-discipline design team, your primary duty will be to edit client specifications and standards, review design packages consisting of P&IDs, layout drawings, details, and equipment plans followed by review of vendor submittals, RFIs, and construction documents.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering from ABET Accredited University
• At least 5 years of practical application of wastewater treatment facilities engineering — focus on waste systems' chemistry pertaining to semiconductor facilities
• At least 3 years of practical application of chemical/mechanical facilities engineering, including ultrapure water, chemical distribution, gas distribution, process piping, exhaust, plumbing, waste drains, pumps, tank storage/design and related chemical/mechanical facilities systems
• At least 3 years of design project delivery processes experience
• Ability to collaborate and work effectively in a variety of teams, including multi-disciplinary teams
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize, and leadership experience

Ideally, you will also have

• At least 3 years of experience working with complex semiconductor manufacturing tools, either their manufacture, installation, or use in cleanrooms
• Proficient working knowledge of AutoCAD software
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Forward-thinking, eager to learn best practices and contribute with innovative ideas
• Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and driven to broaden knowledge base
• Passion for buildings and construction
• 3 years of field experience
• EIT or PE license

Other Requirements

Location: This is primarily a remote position. Successful candidate will need to work onsite in Boise, Idaho for one week during the first month, thereafter, reducing to one site visit every 6 weeks.

Physical Requirements

Position requires field visits and walks at an active client site in various stages of construction. Applicant must be able to walk long distances, sit and stand for extended periods, bend, stoop, twist, crawl, climb ladders, work on catwalks, work in small spaces, lift and carry up to 25lbs.

Authorized to Work

Applicant must complete background check, drug screen and be fully authorized to work for any client in the United States. We will not sponsor or continue a visa for this position.
