Responsibilities
The procedural support assistant plays a vital role in supporting patients and the procedural team. Responsibilities include providing patient support and information pre-procedure, assisting during procedures, postoperative support, specimen handling, vital signs collection, room turnover and cleaning, supply management, and patient transportation. They also support patient visits and anticipate patient and team needs to enhance the care experience.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED and two years of patient care experience. Relevant roles include desk operations specialist, nursing assistant, patient care assistant, or licensed practical nurse. At least one year of customer service experience in administrative, physician’s office, appointment scheduling, or retail/service industries is required.
Additional Qualifications
Proficiency in Windows-based applications, internet use, and keyboard navigation. Completion of a Medical Terminology course within six months if not already completed. An associate's degree in a healthcare-related field is preferred. Exposure to electronic health records is a plus. Must demonstrate independence, organization, multitasking, effective communication, and stress management skills. Flexibility and adaptability to changing environments and schedules are essential.
License or Certification
Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification required; additional certifications as needed.
Compensation
$20.57 - $28.62 per hour.
Schedule
Full-time, nights: Saturdays and Sundays 8 p.m. to 6:30 a.m.
