Job summary

Providence PACE Oregon is seeking a Specialist-Centralized Appointment to track, schedule, and maintain outside medical referrals for participants’ routine or episodic needs, including labs, transportation, and physician orders.

You will obtain referrals, manage prior authorizations, and serve as the main communication line with outside specialty offices, reviewing referrals and guiding follow-up to appropriate staff.

Qualifications

• 2 years of office experience using a computer for data entry and word processing.
• Experience with EMR systems is a plus.
• Experience coordinating with multiple medical offices and safeguarding protected health information.

Description

The Specialist-Centralized Appointment position is responsible for tracking, scheduling, and maintenance of outside medical specialist referrals for routine or episodic needs of participants for lab, medical specialty, transportation requests, and physician/nurse practitioner orders. Obtains and manages referrals and prior authorizations. The position represents the main line of communication with outside medical specialty office staff in coordinating health information and appointments. The position is also required to review referrals, follow-up and refer to appropriate staff.

Required Qualifications

• 2 years of experience working in an office setting that includes utilizing a computer for data and word processing.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience using an electronic medical health record system.


• Experience working with multiple medical offices coordinating and safeguarding protected health information.


• Experience using transportation scheduling software.

Posted are the minimum and the maximum wage rates on the wage range for this position. The successful candidate's placement on the wage range for this position will be determined based upon relevant job experience and other applicable factors. These amounts are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.

Pay Range: $22.44 - $34.33
