The 36th District Court in Detroit seeks a Probation Officer to conduct interviews, investigations and supervision to ensure compliance with court orders and to assist in pretrial bond recommendations.

The role emphasizes rehabilitation and active involvement in reform initiatives, with duties including preparing reports, coordinating services, maintaining records, and guiding offenders through probation terms.

Competenze

• Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, social work, psychology, counseling, human services or related field.
• At least two years of progressively more responsible experience in a court setting or criminal justice field.
• Ability to perform duties with independence, initiative and judgment.
• Strong organizational and communication skills, including written and verbal.

Mansioni

• Conduct intake and presentence interviews with offenders and evaluate background information.
• Provide bond recommendations and prepare presentence reports and sentencing recommendations.
• Supervise probationers and coordinate community services and treatment resources.
• Maintain detailed case records and update the case management system.
