Job summary

The City of Fraser is seeking a probation officer to monitor and supervise probationers, enforce court-ordered conditions, and conduct presentence investigations. You will investigate violations, prepare reports, and provide recommendations on case disposition.

The role involves counseling probationers on personal and social matters, administering drug screening, and testifying in court. You will collaborate with law enforcement, social service agencies, and other stakeholders to support

Qualifications

Experience in probation monitoring and enforcing court-ordered conditions.
Ability to investigate and present probation-related reports.
Strong verbal and written communication skills and ethical judgment.

Responsibilities

Supervises an assigned caseload of probationers; enforces conditions and investigates violations.
Counsels probationers on personal, social, educational, financial, vocational, and health matters.
Compiles and presents reports to court; develops recommendations for case disposition or violations.
Compiles information and analyzes activities; maintains records and case files.
Administers PBT and collects urine drug screens as needed.
Prepares pre-sentence reports for Judge with recommendations.
Conducts substance abuse screening interviews with defendants using state-approved methods.
Testifies in court about probation violations and hearings.
Maintains liaison with law enforcement, court, social services and community resources.
Ensures courteous, ethical conduct and a harmonious workplace environment.
