Job summary

Orion Placement seeks a probate and estate planning attorney licensed in Texas to own cases with direct client contact. Manage contested and uncontested probate matters, draft wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and other estate planning documents.

You will counsel clients through the probate process, collaborate with paralegals, and meet a 120-hour monthly billable target in a hybrid Arlington, TX role with opportunities for professional development and bar dues coverage.

Qualifications

• Active Texas Bar license in good standing.
• 2+ years of probate and estate planning experience.
• Experience independently managing client matters and deadlines.
• Strong legal drafting, research, communication, and client counseling skills.
• Ability to take ownership of matters and follow through without extensive oversight.
• In-house and solo practice backgrounds are welcome.
• Family law or related litigation experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage probate and estate planning matters with meaningful autonomy and direct client contact.
• Handle contested and uncontested probate matters, including independent administrations, determinations of heirship, and muniment of title proceedings.
• Draft wills, powers of attorney, medical directives, revocable trusts, and other estate planning documents.
• Counsel clients on estate planning strategies and guide families through the probate process.
• Manage matters from initial consultation through resolution while keeping clients informed and engaged.
• Work closely with paralegals and legal assistants on drafting, filings, case management, and administrative support.
• Meet a monthly billable expectation of approximately 120 hours while maintaining responsive, high-quality client service.
• Collaborate with attorneys across complementary practice areas when client needs overlap.
