Job summary

Nucor LV division is seeking a Safety Engineer to uphold safety culture across operations. You will develop and deliver training, implement OSHA requirements, maintain OSHA logs, and support operations, maintenance, and engineering with safety improvements.

Qualified candidates have a degree in Safety/Industrial Hygiene, 2+ years in industrial safety, knowledge of federal/state regulations, and the ability to travel to other Nucor locations. First Aid/CPR certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience with federal/state safety regulations and laws.
• Minimum 2 years in an industrial environment applying safety policies and development of safety and loss prevention programs.
• Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Safety Engineering or related field.

Responsibilities

• Cultivate a culture of safety awareness and housekeeping stewardship.
• Provide support/resources to operations, maintenance and engineering for safety and ergonomic improvements.
• Understand, implement and communicate OSHA regulations at all levels.
• Develop, organize and deliver safety training.
• Review, develop and implement safety policies and procedures.
• Maintain OSHA 300 logs and safety records.
• Interact with regulatory agencies.
• Travel to other Nucor locations as needed.
