Job summary

ASM Research, An Accenture Federal Services Company, seeks a Cyber Threat Hunter to proactively protect enterprise environments by analyzing network, endpoint, and log data. You will develop baselines, detect anomalies, investigate adversary TTPs, and contribute to detection engineering and automation.

Collaborate with SOC analysts, create incident documentation, and advance monitoring capabilities in a government-focused security posture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
• 4 years of experience in cybersecurity or a closely related security role.
• System administrator-level analysis across multiple platforms/OS for cyber investigations.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to track and assess adversary TTPs.
• Knowledge of intrusion detection, evidence preservation, and security policies/regulations.

Responsibilities

• Conduct proactive threat hunting across networks, endpoints, and security datasets to identify threats.
• Analyze logs from multiple sources to detect suspicious behavior and validate threat activity.
• Establish baselines for normal traffic and system activity to improve anomaly detection.
• Collaborate with SOC analysts to recommend new alerts and monitoring logic.
• Develop automation scripts to streamline threat hunting and reduce response time.
• Research adversary TTPs and develop investigative leads based on threat intelligence.
• Support incident response by creating documentation and recommendations to improve maturity.
• Characterize malware and threats to determine impact and scope.
• Apply reverse engineering to support vulnerability research and understand malicious code behavior.
