Job summary

Cortland is seeking a Service Technician to help create a safe, well-maintained living environment for residents. You will perform routine maintenance, assist with turnovers, maintain common areas, and respond quickly to service requests with a customer-focused mindset.

You will work with basic tools to handle carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and painting tasks, while ensuring high-quality workmanship and attention to detail.

Qualifications

• 1-2+ years of experience in maintenance, facilities, or related work
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Basic knowledge of household repairs and use of hand tools
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or within a team
• Strong customer-service skills and a professional attitude
• Ability to lift, carry, climb ladders, and work in various indoor/outdoor conditions
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and basic repairs, including carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, and general apartment upkeep.
• Complete make-ready tasks to ensure vacant units are clean, functional, and ready for new residents.
• Maintain overall property appearance, including daily ground upkeep and trash removal.
• Respond to resident service requests promptly, professionally, and with a focus on customer satisfaction.
• Assist with preventative maintenance and seasonal projects assigned.
• Report safety hazards, recurring issues, or larger maintenance needs to your supervisor.
