Job summary

Akumin is hiring a X-ray Technologist for our Tampa, FL facilities in a PRN Float, part-time capacity. The role involves administering ionizing radiation per physician orders, operating varied X-ray equipment, and maintaining patient-centric care across multiple sites.

The position requires ARRT certification, state license if applicable, CPR/BLS (AHA/ARC) and potentially ACLS. Travel between local Akumin sites may be needed; strong communication and HIPAA compliance are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate's Degree or equivalent experience preferred.
• ARRT (R) certification.
• State license, if applicable.
• CPR/BLS from AHA/ARC. ACLS where applicable.
• Valid state driver’s license, as applicable.
• Ability to work at several locations.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Organizational, multi-tasking, and critical thinking skills.
• Basic knowledge of computer applications.

Responsibilities

• Administer ionizing radiation to obtain diagnostic exams as ordered by the physician.
• Demonstrate competency across X-ray equipment and maintain quality to meet customer expectations.
• Communicate effectively with patients and radiologists; maintain HIPAA compliance.
• Demonstrate proficiency with EMR, PACS, and DICOM for image sharing and interpretation.
• Train and orient new technologists and patient coordinators; complete ongoing education.
• Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.

We are currently hiring for an X-Ray Technologist at our Tampa, FL facilities. This will be a PRN Float position.

Specific duties include, but are not limited to:

• Administer ionizing radiation to obtain diagnostic exams as ordered by the physician and - consistent with all applicable legal requirements and restrictions- exercise individual thought, judgment and discretion in the performance of the procedure.
• Knowledge and ability to demonstrate competency of differing X-ray equipment. Effectively communicates with patients and/or radiologists. Maintain levels of quality that meet or exceed customer expectations through process improvement and a team-oriented approach.
• Demonstrates the ability to use all channels of communications to address concerns, solve problems, and address conflict. Maintain confidentiality in matters relating to patients, family and staff in compliance with HIPAA.
• Demonstrate proficiency of EMR systems, as well as PACS and DICOM systems for image sharing and interpretation.
• Train and orient new technologists, patient coordinators as needed. Complete annual and on-going education and site specific competencies/in-services as designated by leadership.
• Other duties as assigned by leadership.

Position Requirements:

• Local travel may be required.

Preferred Requirements:

• Associate's Degree or Equivalent Experience
• 1 year of x-ray experience.
