Job summary

Akumin Inc. is seeking a PRN X-Ray Technologist to support Tampa-area facilities on a float basis. The position requires administering diagnostic X-ray procedures, maintaining image quality, and ensuring patient safety in accordance with state regulations and HIPAA.

Candidates should have ARRT(R), a valid state license if applicable, and CPR/BLS certification. Flexibility to travel among Akumin sites and complete ongoing education is required.

Responsibilities

• Administer ionizing radiation to obtain diagnostic exams as ordered by the physician.

• Maintain EMR, PACS, and DICOM workflows; ensure data confidentiality per HIPAA.
• Assist with training new technologists and site in-services.

This will be a **PRN Float** position. **Specific duties include, but are not limited to:*** Administer ionizing radiation to obtain diagnostic exams as ordered by the physician and - consistent with all applicable legal requirements and restrictions- exercise individual thought, judgment and discretion in the performance of the procedure.* Knowledge and ability to demonstrate competency of differing X-ray equipment. Effectively communicates with patients and/or radiologists. Maintain levels of quality that meet or exceed customer expectations through process improvement and a team-oriented approach.* Demonstrates the ability to use all channels of communications to address concerns, solve problems, and address conflict. Maintain confidentiality in matters relating to patients, family and staff in compliance with HIPAA.* Demonstrate proficiency of EMR systems, as well as PACS and DICOM systems for image sharing and interpretation.* Train and orient new technologists, patient coordinators as needed. Complete annual and on-going education and site specific competencies/in-services as designated by leadership.* Other duties as assigned by leadership.**Position Requirements:*** High School Diploma or equivalent experience required; Associate's Degree or equivalent experience preferred.* ARRT (R)* State license, if applicable required.* CPR Certification, BLS from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC).
