Job summary

The University of Maryland Urgent Care is seeking licensed Nurse Practitioners or Physician Assistants for PRN coverage in Anne Arundel County, including Glen Burnie and Pasadena.

You will lead clinical care with a team of MAs and x-ray techs, treating patients aged 1 year and up, handling a range of urgent-care services and ensuring patient-centered experiences.

Qualifications

• MD/DO licensed-eligible candidates must have Maryland license in good standing (or pending) and NPI.
• Must have completed a bachelor of arts or sciences for admission to NP/PA professional programs.
• Experience in urgent care, ICU, ED, or primary care highly helpful.
• Proactive, growth-minded, patient-centered caregiver who welcomes feedback.

Job Description

This position encompasses the Anne Arundel County region of Maryland and includes equal coverage of our centers located in Glen Burnie and Pasadena, MD. UM Urgent Care providers are the leaders of our urgent care facilities, providing excellent care to our patients, creating signature patient experiences and working as a close-knit team with medical assistants and x-ray technologists. We care for patients from one year of age and older, providing a diverse array of services from treating upper respiratory infections, sprains and strains, and applying sutures, to employee health physicals, work related injuries and preoperative exams.

PRN providers are required to give at least 2-3 days of availability each month, with two of those days being weekends. All PRN providers must also give one day of availability each month to be the ’emergency on call’ provider for all of our facilities.

Qualifications

Candidates must be a licensed Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in good standing in the state of Maryland (candidates may have a license pending approval), and have an NPI number, DEA and CDS (or be in the process of receiving those items). Candidates must have successfully completed a bachelor of arts or sciences degree required for admission to their respective nurse practitioner or physician assistant professional school. Additionally, having some experience as a provider, nurse or tech in the fields of urgent care, intensive care, emergency medicine or primary care is very helpful. It is required that candidates have a proactive, growth focused mindset, are passionate about providing high quality care to their patients. Candidates must be passionate about the field of urgent care, intellectually curious and be open to constructive feedback.

Additional Information

We provide side by side clinical training shifts at the onset of employment to ensure new providers have the hands-on procedure skill, basic clinical knowledge and electronic health records fluency necessary to be successful. We also provide support for our providers with constant APP and physician leadership available telephonically for all operating hours.

Pay Range: $65 - $68
