Job summary

Azria Health Park Place seeks a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist to evaluate and treat residents with speech, language, cognitive and swallowing disorders at our Des Moines, IA facility; experience with adult rehabilitation is preferred.

The role emphasizes diagnostic assessments, individualized treatment plans, therapy documentation, regulatory adherence, and collaboration with the care team to adjust therapies as needed.

Qualifications

• Appropriate education level required in accordance with state licensure.
• Must be licensed in the state(s) of practice as Speech Therapist.
• When applicable, may require valid driver's license.
• Obtains and subsequently maintains required department specific competencies and certifications. Basic Life Support (BLS) for health care providers required or within the first 60 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Administers speech and language evaluations, tests or examinations to diagnose and plan treatments for clients/patients/residents with various speech problems and swallowing disorders.
• Assesses clients/patients/residents with various speech, language, cognitive or swallowing problems and develops individualized treatment plans based on clinical diagnoses.
• Provides speech and language services to clients/patients/residents; monitors disease progression and adjusts treatments accordingly.
• Instructs clients/patients/residents in practicing speech and language therapeutic exercises; provides consultation for clients/patients/residents working through speech and language treatment processes.
• Ensures all speech and language related standards, policies, protocols and quality requirements are met.
