Job summary

Ashford Hall Nursing & Rehabilitation in Irving, TX is seeking a compassionate PRN Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our in-house rehabilitation team. The SLP will evaluate residents, develop treatment plans, and support cognitive and swallowing goals.

Responsibilities include providing AAC systems, educating residents and caregivers, coordinating with physicians for procedures, documenting care, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Active/Valid Texas license in Speech-Language Pathology.
• Current ASHA Certification.
• In good standing with regulatory agencies and licensing boards.
• SNF/Long term care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate residents for swallowing or cognitive deficits.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for cognition or swallowing.
• Provide AAC systems for severe expressive/receptive disorders.
• Educate residents, caregivers, and other professionals as needed.
• Coordinate with physicians for diagnostic swallowing procedures as ordered.
• Document billing records and clinical notes accurately.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with regulations.

Ashford Hall is seeking a compassionate PRN Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our in-house rehabilitation team in Irving, TX.

SLP Responsibilities:

• Evaluate Residents conditions forswallowing or cognitive deficits.
• Help Residents in their goals to improve Cognition or Swallowing
• Education for Residents and Caregivers
• Provide skilled, medically necessaryspeech and language therapy assessments as well as develop and implementindividualized treatment plans to increase client’s independence andfunctioning.
• Provide augmentative and alternativecommunication (AAC) systems for individuals with severe expressive and/orlanguage comprehension disorders.
• Provide training and education toclients, family, caregivers, and other professionals as a subject matterexpert.
• Coordinate and collaborate with otherprofessionals for diagnostic swallowing procedures (MBSS, FEES) as ordered byphysician.
• Demonstrate competent technical skillsaccording to current Speech Therapy standards of practice.
• Communicate changes in resident’scondition.
• Provide accurate and timely billingrecords and supporting clinical documentation.
• Respond to family requests andconcerns timely.
• Coordinate and provide training withRestorative Nursing and other Care staff.
• Assure resident abuse or neglect doesnot occur.
• Observe confidentiality and safeguardsfor all patient information.
• Complies with federal, state, andlocal legal and professional requirements.

SLP Skills:

• SNF/Long term care experience preferred.
• Current knowledge of treatment practices
• Knowledge of Net Health Electronic Documentation Systempreferred.
• Ability to manage patients with different types ofpersonalities.

SLP Requirements:
