Job summary

Wellstar Health System is seeking a PRN Ultrasound Technologist to support our Radiology department in Georgia. The role involves performing diagnostic ultrasound exams, ensuring safety, maintaining image quality, and collaborating with physicians and staff to deliver patient-centered care.

The position requires ARDMS certification or equivalent, a high school diploma or GED, and preferred diagnostic medical sonography training.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma General or GED General is required.
• Trade School Diploma/Degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography is preferred.
• ARDMS - Registered is required upon hire unless otherwise stated.

Responsibilities

• Verifies proper clinician order for procedure.
• Obtains complete clinical history and assesses for contraindicating conditions.
• Ensures proper patient identification and marker usage.
• Reviews ultrasound images for clinically acceptable results.
• Responds to emergencies and maintains life support equipment as needed.
• Assists other technologists in all modalities when needed.
• Maintains patient privacy and comfort during exams.
• Preps the patient and ensures sterile technique for procedures.
• Operates imaging equipment and positions patient for procedures.
• Transports patients and handles routine clerical duties within the department.
