Under the direct supervision of the Pre-Op/PACU manager, the PACU nurse provides for the continuity and quality of nursing care, evaluates patient condition, and ensures safety, comfort, and privacy.

Responsibilities

• Provide total comprehensive patient care to patients emerging from general anesthesia and/or sedation.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the patient and family in preparation for discharge.
• Assist physicians in procedure rooms with conscious sedation and sterile technique as deemed appropriate.
