Cleveland Clinic Medina Hospital is seeking a PRN ICU Registered Nurse to provide direct patient care in the Surgical ICU. The role supports a high-acuity environment with state-of-the-art equipment and a strong commitment to safe, patient-centered care.

You will participate in care planning, monitor patient conditions, and coordinate discharge needs, with rotating day/night shifts and weekend/holiday availability.

Competenze

• Graduate from an accredited School of Professional Nursing (ADN or BSN)
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
• Two years of recent related nursing experience for external applicants OR less than two years of experience, but post orientation/90-day probationary period considered with the Chief Nursing Officer approval for internal applicants OR military RN experience

Medina Hospital’sIntensive Care Unit (ICU) offersnewly renovatedpatientbeds,state-of-the-arttechnicalequipmentand top-quality patient care.The SICU manages a variety of complex cases, including cardiac patients, insulin drips, respiratory conditions, neurological issues and kidney disease, as well as procedures such as intubation, transesophageal echocardiogram (TEE), chest tube insertion and central line placement. As an RN in the SICU, you will assist fellow caregivers in providing exceptional care, from initial introduction to final send-off. In this role, you will interact directly with patients, families and visitors, offering the opportunity to enhance their experience and deliver healthcare education as needed.

Caregivers during orientation will be exposed to both day and off shift rotations. Caregivers may choose to pick shifts that will work within their schedule. We do ask caregivers to target off shift, weekends and holidays as able. We are able to allow caregivers to choose shift availability, as long as they meet the minimum requirements for the position during the scheduling period.

This is a regular PRN position working mostly nights from 7:00 p.m. - 7:30 a.m.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

• Provide direct nursing care.

• Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• Graduate from an accredited School of Professional Nursing (ADN or BSN program)
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
• Two years of recent related nursing experience for external applicants OR less than two years of experience, but post orientation/90-day probationary period considered with the Chief Nursing Officer approval for internal applicants OR military RN experience

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Physical Requirements:

• Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patient, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.
• Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.
• Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
• Requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours.
• Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids.
• Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
• Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.

Personal Protective Equipment:

• Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
