Job summary

SSM Health Saint Louis University Hospital in Saint Louis, MO is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for a PRN position. The RT will perform diagnostic and therapeutic respiratory care and collaborate with supervisory staff to support a growing service.

The role requires strong teamwork and adherence to department protocols. Responsibilities include ventilator management, ABG analysis, bronchoscopy assistance, and aerosolized medications while ensuring patient safety and quality care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an AMA approved school in Respiratory Therapy.
• RRT registration with NBRC and MO license within 6 months of hire.
• Leadership skills desirable.

Responsibilities

• Relate to coworkers professionally to promote safety.
• Set up and monitor respiratory therapy procedures per policy.
• Provide aerosolized medications and CPT/IPV as indicated.
• Operate ventilators and monitor patient response.
• Perform ABG analysis and other diagnostic tests.
• Respond to critical areas (ER/OR) as needed.
• Assist with bronchoscopy and other procedures.
• Maintain documentation and ensure safety compliance.
