Job summary

HCA Florida Largo Hospital is seeking a PRN Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to evaluate patients’ respiratory needs and develop care plans. You will manage ventilation and airway support across care settings, working with a collaborative team to deliver evidence-based therapy and mentor from RT leaders.

You will participate in delivering oxygen therapy, aerosolized meds, and airway clearance techniques while maintaining documentation and equipment readiness.

Qualifications

• Current Florida Registered Respiratory Therapist licensure.
• ACLS, PALS and NRP within 6 months of hire.
• Graduate of CoARC-accredited Respiratory Care program.
• Must be able to work with minimal supervision in a stressful environment.
• Customer service abilities including effective listening skills.
• BLS health care provider required.

Responsibilities

• Operate acute care ventilators for short and long-term ventilation.
• Self-direct in the absence of the Team Leader.
• Maintain department and hospital records in the hospital computer for the therapy.
• Perform procedures with care and empathy for patients.
• Assist with newborn stabilization during deliveries when needed.
• Set up, operate and clean respiratory equipment; ensure readiness and infection control.
