Job summary

Spring Mountain Treatment Center in Las Vegas, NV seeks a PRN Activity Aide to lead and support Activity Therapy under the supervision of the CTRS. The role focuses on planning and delivering recreational activities, documenting progress, and contributing to therapeutic groups within an inpatient setting.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree, at least one year in a psychiatric facility, and experience with arts, sports, and recreation activities along with BLS/RQI certification

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Minimum of one year experience working in a psychiatric facility.
• Experience assisting with recreation activities or focus groups preferred.
• Knowledge and experience in arts, sports, and general recreation activities; ability to modify activity according to participant participation and/or disability.
• Knowledge and experience with behavior management procedures; follow hospital rules and policies.
• New hires must attend 1 full week of New Employee Orientation on day shift (8:00 am – 4:30 pm).
• Must pass background check (criminal history, Child Abuse registry and FBI/ABI fingerprint check).
• Must complete RQI and obtain required BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Plans and directs recreational activities with guidance from CTRS and Program Director.
• Requests supplies/equipment/maintenance in a planful manner.
• Uses creativity in planning outside events.
• Assists in providing groups and monitors behaviors during group.
• Performs ITP measures for Activity Therapy.
• Implements creative expression, teambuilding, physical education/fitness, social skill development, and community reintegration activities.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
