Job summary

Pasadena Villa Outpatient in Des Moines, IA seeks a PRN Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to perform psychiatric evaluations and medication management as part of a multidisciplinary team.

You will collaborate with the care team to ensure high-quality, evidence-based treatment and coordinate with external providers as needed. On-site weekly coverage is expected with potential virtual coverage at times.

Qualifications

• Active NP license in Iowa.
• Minimum 3 years in behavioral healthcare.
• Experience with PHP/IOP and/or psychiatric hospital is preferred.
• Strong communication with patients, families and staff.

Responsibilities

• Conduct psychiatric evaluations to determine medical necessity.
• Provide medication management on-site weekly and by phone in urgent situations.
• Offer education and information to patients and families to increase treatment engagement.
• Collaborate with care team and external providers to ensure safety and quality of care.
• Complete medical records and other required documentation in a timely manner.
• Perform other duties as requested by the Director.
