Job Overview

Acenda Integrated Health provides a wide range of behavioral health programs across New Jersey. This role is for an Emergency Screener in Gloucester County.

Program: Psych Emergency Rehab Svc - Gloucester (PERSG).

Responsibilities

• Conduct emergency/mental health assessments for patients in crisis.
• Screen patients for psychiatric hospitalization, both voluntary and involuntary, and provide crisis stabilization services.
• Provide appropriate referral and linkage when indicated.
• Develop and implement alternative treatment plans.
• Consult with psychiatrist and E.R. doctor regarding client disposition.
• Assess drug and alcohol involvement when clinically indicated and plan disposition for D/A patients.
• Complete Authorization for Police Transport form, Screening Document, and other clinical instruments.
• Collaborate with coworkers and agency staff to communicate and problem‑solve effectively.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a mental‑health‑related field from an accredited institution plus one year of post‑master’s, full‑time equivalent, professional experience in a psychiatric setting;
• or Bachelor’s degree in a mental‑health‑related field from an accredited institution plus three years of post‑bachelor’s, full‑time equivalent, professional experience in the mental‑health field, one of which is in a crisis setting;
• or Bachelor’s degree in a mental‑health‑related field, one of which is in a crisis setting and currently enrolled in a master’s program.
• Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license, use of an insured vehicle, and an acceptable driving record.
• Preferred: Master’s degree in psychology, counseling, social work or a related field with clinical training.

Compensation & Benefits

Base hourly rate: $25.62. Bilingual rate – an additional $1.50/hour for Spanish proficiency. Overnights available: 10 p.m.–8 a.m. or 11 p.m.–7 a.m.
