Job summary

Medical City Surgery Center Fort Worth, part of HCA Healthcare, seeks a PRN PreOp Registered Nurse to plan, execute and evaluate preoperative nursing care in an ambulatory surgery setting.

You will assess patients, prepare care areas, ensure equipment, review charts, and administer pre-op meds and IV therapy, monitoring patients until OR transfer.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a PACU or ICU setting; preferably in an ambulatory surgery center.
• Active RN license as required by state of employment.
• Required valid BCLS Certification upon employment. online certification not acceptable
• ACLS required

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients’ care area adequately before case.
• Ensure availability of necessary equipment and supplies for your patients’ procedure.
• Conduct complete physical and psychological assessment and evaluation of your patients’ history and diagnostic tests.
• Review your patients’ charts for completeness prior to surgery.
• Administer pre-operative medications and intravenous therapy as prescribed.
• Monitor your patients until transferred to the OR
