Job summary

The Physical Therapy Assistant at Mercy Health Urbana Hospital provides skilled therapeutic interventions to patients across inpatient, outpatient, pediatrics and off-site locations under the supervision of the Physical Therapist.

You will document patient progress in the electronic health record, implement established treatment programs, and educate patients and families as part of the continuum of professional care within a faith-based, patient-focused environment.

• General computer skills including data entry, word processing, email, and records management.
• Analytical abilities to evaluate patient condition, capabilities, and progress.

Responsibilities

• Provides age-appropriate therapeutic interventions as directed by the Physical Therapist and monitors response to treatment.
• Maintains accurate and concise records on treatment provided and patient’s progress.
• Maintains productivity without compromising quality.
• Precepts in the direction and evaluation of student clinical experiences.
• Adheres to safety, infection control, and timekeeping policies.
• Observes and reports patient responses and progress to the Physical Therapist.
