Job summary

Northwest Health La Porte is seeking a Pharmacy Technician (PRN) to assist in medication preparation, distribution, and inventory management in a hospital setting.

You will help ensure regulatory compliance, provide excellent patient and staff service, and support pharmacists in delivering safe patient care. Position requires 0–2 years of hospital pharmacy experience and adherence to hospital policies.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of medication preparation, dispensing, and compounding under supervision.
• Understanding of HIPAA, OSHA, and state/federal pharmacy laws.
• Proficiency in inventory management to maintain stock levels.
• Ability to operate pharmacy equipment and troubleshoot issues.
• Strong communication to support patients and staff.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparation and dispensing of medications under supervision.
• Maintain accurate inventory levels and conduct regular audits.
• Provide excellent customer service to patients and staff.
• Maintain records of orders, dispensing, and inventory transactions.
• Participate in quality assurance and safety checks.
• Troubleshoot pharmacy equipment as needed.
• Collaborate with pharmacists and healthcare professionals.
