Job summary

Cardinal Health in Jacksonville, FL is seeking a Pharmacist II (PRN) to join our hospital system pharmacy operations. The pharmacist adjusts and dispenses medications, verifies orders, educates patients, and supervises technicians.

This role supports accreditation, narcotics control and inventory management, with on-call rotation and day-to-day patient care. Hours vary: Monday–Friday 8:00 AM–4:30 PM, with weekend coverage as needed.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid Florida Pharmacist license or be able to obtain licensure.
• Bachelor’s degree in pharmacy or PharmD.
• Prior inpatient/hospital pharmacy experience preferred.
• IV compounding experience preferred.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Proficient with pharmacy information systems and computer use.

Job Summary

What Health System Pharmacy contributes to Cardinal Health Pharmacy Operations is responsible for the safe, efficient and effective coordination of Cardinal Health's pharmacy operations that service acute care hospitals, hospital retail customers, ambulatory care and alternate site facilities, oncology and cardiology practices as well as retail customers. Health System Pharmacy is responsible for providing customized pharmacy program solutions that reduce costs and improve patient care quality for hospitals, health systems and other integrated healthcare providers may also consult with and advise healthcare team on prescribed medications, supplies and related processes. Job Summary Working in a hospital system pharmacy outsourced to Cardinal Health, the Pharmacist II adjusts and dispenses medication to patients and drives the compliant and efficient operations of the pharmacy. The Pharmacist verifies physician orders using the pharmacy information system, makes adjustments according to protocols for a given medication, and provides patient education. This job also supervises Pharmacy Technicians and manages compliance tasks related to accreditation, narcotics control, and inventory management. Cardinal Health manages the pharmacy at PAM Health Specialty Hospital of Jacksonville. This PRN pharmacist will work on an \"as needed\" basis during hours of operation. Monday-Friday 8:00AM - 4:30PM, Saturday-Sunday 8:00AM - 12:00PM and call when needed.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the day-to-day pharmaceutical care and management of patients.
• Interacts with patients, health care providers, clinics, and prescribers involved with the patient.
• Review prescriptions prior to dispensing and verify all questionable prescriptions.
• Ensure appropriate storage of products in the facility and compliance with all laws, regulations, and accrediting agencies standards.
• IV Compounding.
• Help establish departmental policies and procedures.
• Maintain the required number of continuing education credits to maintain credentials as required by each state license.
• Assist ancillary personnel with purchasing, inventory control and other duties.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in pharmacy or PharmD.
• Must be a “good standing” licensed Pharmacist in the state of Florida or able to obtain licensure.
• Prior Inpatient/Hospital pharmacy experience preferred.
• IV experience preferred.
• Ability to hear, write, and speak clearly in order to communicate with customers and health care professionals.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Computer savvy to learn and perform successful operation of multiple pharmacy information systems.
• Ability to work on call or be in an on call rotation as needed.
• Ability to occasionally lift up to 35 pounds.
• Ability to bend, reach, stoop, lift and stand for entire shift.
• Vendor Credentialing may be required

Compensation & Benefits

Anticipated hourly range: $48.70 per hour - $69.60 per hour.
