Job summary

Akumin seeks a PET-CT Technologist for a PRN position across multiple facilities. You will conduct PET-CT imaging with emphasis on patient safety and image quality, while coordinating with radiologists and staff to support diagnostic workflows.

The role requires Nuclear Medicine certification (NMTCB/ARRT N), CPR, and the ability to work at several locations. Previous Nuclear Medicine experience and flexibility to travel are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate’s Degree preferred.
• Certification in Nuclear Medicine NMTCB or ARRT(N) required.
• State license as required and CPR certification.
• 1–2 years Nuclear Medicine experience preferred.
• Ability to work at multiple locations and travel as needed.
• COVID-19 vaccination may be a condition of employment.
• Complete pre-employment background check and drug screen.

We are currently hiring for a PET-CT Technologist at our South Florida facilities. This will be a PRN position.

Duties

• Responsible for patient safety including pre-screening for contraindications, aseptic injection technique, etc. and radiation safety/regulations, including proper documentation and technique when working with radioactive materials/patients.
• Produces high quality diagnostic images.
• Effectively communicates with customers and/or radiologists.
• Trains new technologists and/or PC's.
• Trouble-shoots the scanner, coach and peripheral equipment (including: monitors, PACS, coils, etc.).

Position Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent experience required; Associate’s Degree or equivalent experience preferred.
• Certification in Nuclear Medicine by the NMTCB or ARRT (N) required.
• State license, as required.
• CPR certification required.
• As applicable, valid state driver’s license.
• 1-2 years’ experience in Nuclear Medicine procedures and studies preferred.
• Ability to work at several locations.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Organizational and multi-tasking skills.
• Basic knowledge of computer applications and programs.
• Local travel may be required.
• The COVID-19 vaccination is/may be a condition of employment.
