Job summary

The Surgery Center of Fairbanks is seeking a motivated Perianesthesia RN to join our fast-paced team on a PRN basis. Flexible 8-hour shifts available Monday-Friday between 6:00 a.m. and 5:30 p.m., with no nights, weekends, or on-call required.

The ideal candidate will perform pre-op assessments, obtain consents, prepare patients, and deliver immediate post-op care, monitoring status and providing discharge instructions. Alaska RN license with BLS; ACLS/PALS preferred; PACU experience a plus.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Alaska.
• BLS required; ACLS/PALS preferred.
• Perianesthesia or PACU experience is a plus, but training is available.

Responsibilities

• Pre-Op: Perform patient assessments and pre-op education.
• Pre-Op: Obtain and review consents and test results.
• Pre-Op: Prepare patients physically and emotionally for surgery.
• Pre-Op: Maintain chart completeness and communicate findings with the care team.
• Post-Op/Recovery: Deliver individualized care in the immediate post-op period.
• Post-Op/Recovery: Monitor patient status and respond to complications.
• Post-Op/Recovery: Provide discharge education and follow-up care instructions.
• Post-Op/Recovery: Ensure documentation and coordination with the clinical team.
