Job summary

Health Images, LLC is seeking a PRN Patient Care Technician II at our Westminster, CO clinics. The role supports radiology operations by assisting technologists and preparing patients for CT, MRI, and Nuclear Medicine examinations; ensures prep and exam details are communicated to patients.

This PRN position offers on-call shifts across Northfield and Quail Crossing locations, with pay range $19.64-$23.66 per hour. CPR certification and healthcare admin experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Performs detailed clinical screening of CT, MRI, and Nuclear Medicine patients for technologist review.
  • Assists patients with securing valuables and changing into proper attire for the examination.
  • Prepares room and non-sterile trays as needed to assist technologists/radiologist.
  • Ensures safety procedures are followed at all times in all security zones of the Center.
  • Supports the technologists in preparing patients for the exam, helping patients on and off the imaging table, and escorting them back to the lobby or suitable waiting area.
  • Assists with the Priors Management Grid (receiving and validating priors).
  • Prepares images and paperwork to be sent for interpretation. Sends images through the PACS system to the appropriate location as needed.
  • Contacts referring provider office to obtain updated order and to clarify orders when needed.
  • Collaborates with the Patient Scheduling Coordinator when there is a change in exam/prep for the scheduled patient.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Health Images is looking for a PRN Patient Care Technician II to join our team!
PRN (As-Needed) | Position Pay Range $19.64 - $23.66
Shifts available between both our Northfield and Quail Crossing locations
Summary/Objective:

The Patient Care Technician II (PCT II) is a role dedicated to ensuring the patient has an exceptional patient care experience while in our center by meeting all patient needs. The PCT II will assist the technologist through smooth patient transitions and continuously engaging with the patient on exam expectations and wait times. The PCT II will assist the patient with any incomplete clinical pre-screening forms or consents and conduct the clinical history interview in preparation for the technologist’s final review. The position will perform advanced clinical screening interviews specific to CT, MRI, and Nuclear Medicine examinations for technologist review. In addition, the PCT II will contact the referring provider office to obtain updated orders, clarify orders, and determine when a new order is required. The PCT II must ensure patients are notified when prep/exam details have changed prior to the exam’s scheduled date. The PCT II is responsible for requesting and validating the patient’s prior reports and images, and ensuring the clinical review has been conducted in a timely manner, prior to the patient’s exam. Miscellaneous duties include: stocking the changing rooms, tech supplies etc.

Essential Functions

  • Supports the technologists in preparing patients for the exam, helping patients on and off the imaging table, and escorting them back to the lobby or suitable waiting area.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position has no supervision responsibilities.

This job operates in an environmentally controlled outpatient clinical environment. Potential exposure to radiation, which is minimized by the use of Personal Protective Equipment. Possible exposure to bodily fluids, communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation and other conditions common to a medical office environment. Often requires work in cool, dimly lighted rooms.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle, feel or operate objects, tools or controls, and reach with hands and arms. Job Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications/Experience:

  • One plus year of administrative experience in a healthcare environment – radiology preferred
  • Detail oriented, self-motivated, a problem solver and a team player
  • Ability to excel in a very fast-pace team environment
  • Ability to continuously “exceed” company and customer expectation
Education/Certifications:
  • Minimum of High School diploma or equivalent (GED) – continuing education preferred
  • Active CPR certification
  • Phlebotomy and/or Medical Assistant training is desired.
