Job summary

Ardent Health Services in Carthage, TX is seeking a variable-shift, PRN Medical-Surgical Patient Care Tech (PCT). The role supports nursing staff, helps patients with daily activities, records vitals and specimens, and assists with transport and basic procedures.

Qualifications include High School diploma, BLS within 14 days, and CNA or PCT certification; prior long-term or acute care experience is preferred. This is a part-time, PRN position with flexible shifts.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer.
• Completion of approved CNA or PCT certification is required, or may be in the senior year of nursing school with less than one semester to complete the nursing program.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, eating, and other ADLs.
• Observe patients’ progress and report to RN or medical staff.
• Obtain and record patients’ vital signs and collect specimens for lab tests.
• Provide basic patient transport and housekeeping duties.
• Measure and record intake/output and assist with ROM and other procedures.
• Assist in providing treatments and perform ECGs as ordered.
• Coordinate daily unit activities and participate in performance improvement activities.
