Job summary

The Iowa Primary Care Association, Inc. is actively recruiting a PRN Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to provide primary care for a migrant farmworker clinic program in Postville, IA. This role travels to farmworker job sites and uses mobile clinics to deliver exams and health assessments.

Hours are 6–10 hours per month, typically late afternoon or evening, with potential for more. EHR is Ochin Epic. Spanish bilingual skills are strongly desired.

Qualifications

• Licensed Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in Iowa.
• Bilingual in Spanish strongly desired.
• Experience in primary care or mobile clinic settings.
• Ability to travel to farmworker sites.

Responsibilities

• Travel to farmworker job sites to provide primary care via mobile clinics.
• Perform health histories, physical exams, diagnose and order tests within scope.
• Care for adult patients, interpret results, and coordinate care.
• Document care in Ochin Epic and maintain patient records.

The Iowa Primary Care Association is actively recruiting a PRN Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to provide care for a migrant farmworker clinic program in Postville, IA!

About the Migrant Farmworker Program:

• Farmworkers perform difficult labor and are in the fields from early morning until late evening, sometimes seven days a week. Such a schedule does not facilitate access to health care services. There are also language barriers and transportation issues.


• Health care clinics are scheduled in locations where farmworkers are working and living, during the hours when workers are available for services. In these locations, workers receive vital exams such as blood pressure, temperature, height and weight, and blood profiling to check for anemia, cholesterol, and diabetes. All patients are able to have a complete physical exam.

Role Details:

• Hours: 6-10 hours/month once a month with potential to increase; Late afternoon or evening clinic time during the week;


• EHR: Ochin Epic

Duties:

• Travel to farmworker job sites and provide primary care services via a mobile clinic.


• Perform primary care including conduct health histories and physicals, diagnose, determine course of action, order labs and tests, interpret results within scope of practice.


• Primarily adult patient population.


• Bilingual in Spanish strongly desired.
