Job summary

Novant Health Medical Group in Winston-Salem, NC is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider to join our Hospice & Palliative care program. This PRN role supports inpatient care with potential clinic involvement, working with a multidisciplinary team to improve quality of life for patients and families.

Candidates must have a Master's degree and an active PA or NP license in North Carolina, NCCPA or state registry, BLS and DEA.

Qualifications

• Master's degree required for the role.
• Current PA or NP license in North Carolina; NCCPA or registry with the state nursing board.
• BLS certification and DEA registration required.
• Graduate of NCCPA-accredited PA program or NP program.

Responsibilities

• Primarily based at NH Forsyth Medical Center; may support other sites in the Greater Winston-Salem area as needed.
• Perform inpatient patient assessments, management, and care planning.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary health team and provide family education and support.
• Assist with symptom management and discharge planning for patients with complex needs.

Opportunity Highlights

• PRN Hours based on provider's schedule and availability
• 7 day a week service with many opportunities for PRN hours
• Inpatient Care with the opportunity to be involved with clinic if desired
• Community hospital, large tertiary center with 900+ licensed beds
• Palliative Care Unit with specialized nursing care

Candidate Qualifications

• Education: Master's Degree required. Either a graduate of an NCCPA accredited physician assistant program, or NP or post Master’s NP program required.
• Licensure/Certification/Registration: Current PA or NP license in appropriate state required. NCCPA or registry with state nursing board, BLS, DEA registry required.

• This position is primarily at NH Forsyth Medical Center. May be asked to support other sites in the Greater Winston-Salem market based on staffing needs.
• As an inpatient consultant you will perform: Patient Assessments and Management, Interdisciplinary Team Collaboration, Patient and Family Education and Support, Symptom Management, Admission and Discharging
