Job summary

University Hospitals Pain Management in Ravenna, OH is seeking a PRN Occupational Therapist to support rehabilitation services as needed. You will conduct evaluations, develop and implement treatment plans, and educate patients and families on health information, treatment, and prevention strategies.

The role covers discharge planning and collaboration with the department on documentation and operations while maintaining PHI compliance and standards.

Responsibilities

• Performs evaluation(s) and develops an effective treatment plan appropriate to a patient’s rehabilitation needs within the care continuum.
• Performs effective treatment techniques in a competent manner.
• Educates patient/family/caregiver in applicable health information, treatment and prevention.
• Initiates and participates in the discharge planning process.
• Performs other department activities such as, but not limited to documentation, billing, support of department operations, etc.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Complies with all policies and standards.
• Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients.

• A Brief Overview

• Organizes and conducts Occupational Therapy program to facilitate the rehabilitation of people with physical and/or psychosocial disabilities. The Occupational Therapist directs the patient's participation in selected activities/treatments to restore, re‑reinforce and correct pathology to promote and/or maintain good health.

• Performs effective treatment techniques in a competent manner.
• Educates patient/family/caregiver in applicable health information, treatment and prevention.

• Performs other department activities such as, but not limited to documentation, billing, support of department operations, etc.

• Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.
