Job summary

Atrium Health is seeking a Surgical Technologist for our outpatient surgery setting in Winston-Salem, NC. The role involves supporting the OR pre- and post-surgery, maintaining sterile technique, and coordinating instrument handling under RN supervision.

The ideal candidate has a 2-year Surgical Technology degree, BCLS certification, and at least 1 year of experience, with a preferred specialty certification.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a Surgical Technology program.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
• At least 1 year of Surgical Technology experience.
• Preferred: Certification in specialty area.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing the Operating Room pre- and post-surgery, arrange sterile instruments, and maintain aseptic techniques.
• Support direct patient care under RN supervision, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
• Manage instruments, equipment, and supplies to support timely case flow and accuracy.
• Demonstrate cost-containment practices concerning instruments and inventory.
• Communicate effectively with the team, patients, and families to foster a collaborative environment.

AHWFB Outpatient Surgery is a state-of-the-art outpatient surgery center featuring eight operating rooms and two procedure rooms, along with 32 beds dedicated to preparation, recovery, and post-anesthesia care. Our services include general surgery, otolaryngology, orthopedics, urology, and plastic surgery. In the OR and PreOp/PACU, our RNs lead with compassion, providing top-tier care in an ambulatory setting where patients and families are always at the heart of everything we do.
