Job summary

Townsen Memorial Surgery Center- Kingwood in Kingwood, TX is seeking a PRN Registered Nurse OR Circulator to join the team. Must be able to work Thursdays and/or Fridays, with an active Texas RN license and required certifications (BLS, ACLS, PALS).

The RN will lead in planning patient care, monitor vital signs, and coordinate with the OR team to ensure safe, efficient surgeries. The role emphasizes direct patient care, adherence to safety standards, accurate documentation, and collaboration

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse licensed in Texas and currently active.
• Experience in intra-operative care and operating room nursing.
• Must maintain required certifications (BLS, ACLS, PALS).
• Strong assessment, critical thinking, and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Develops and updates patient care plans with input from patient and family.
• Makes decisions using evidence-based approaches in the OR.
• Sets up and maintains operating room equipment and supplies.
• Supervises patient care within a single operating room.
• Maintains patient privacy and dignity throughout care.
• Communicates with health care team and scheduling staff to optimize OR utilization.
• Ensures safety standards are followed and reports issues promptly.
• Assists in identifying operative site and reads orders accurately.
• Performs nursing interventions and evaluates patient conditions timely.
