Job summary

Munson Healthcare is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (APN/PA) to join the Munson Medical Center team as a PRN OR 1st Assist in Traverse City, MI. The role focuses on primary surgical assistance across several specialties, supporting the OR team and patient care across preop to postoperative stages.

Responsibilities include assisting with fluoroscopy, robotic procedures, and on-call coverage up to 1:8 nights/weekends.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in nursing or PA studies.
• Active Michigan NP or PA license.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary surgical first assist for scheduled and add-on procedures.
• Coordinate with OR staff to ensure case carts, supplies, and equipment are ready.
• Assist with preoperative and postoperative orders and patient preparation.
• Support fluoroscopy and robotic-assisted surgeries.
• Assist across multiple specialties including Urology, General Surgery, Gynecologic Oncology, Vascular, ENT, Orthopedics, Neurosurgery, Plastic Surgery.
• On-call duties with 1:4 to 1:8 nights and weekends.
