Job summary

Baptist Health is seeking an OR Assistant to transport supplies, equipment and patients, and assist with retraction during surgical cases at Baptist Medical Center South.

The role requires a High School diploma or equivalent, completion of ORA II competencies, knowledge of sterile technique, and the ability to communicate clearly. This PRN position involves first shift duties and active involvement in room turnover and instrument reprocessing to support surgery and anesthesia teams.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Successful completion of ORA II competencies for sterile technique, anatomy and patient safety.
• Clinical experience in a surgical setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Transport supplies, equipment, and patients to support surgical cases.
• Scrub on cases for retraction as assigned.
• Assist with pulling cases and setting up procedures.
• Assist with cleaning of OR rooms and reprocessing sterile instruments.
• Maintain supplies, equipment, carts, and patient care readiness.
• Assist Circulating Nurse with delegated duties.
