Job summary

UnityPoint Health in Des Moines, IA is seeking a PRN Occupational Therapist to coordinate the OT plan after assessments and to provide and delegate therapy to improve ADLs, IADLs, ROM, and safety. You will work within an interdisciplinary team, applying evidence-based practice to achieve quality care and patient satisfaction.

The role requires Iowa OT licensure, CPR/BLS, and a driver’s license for travel as needed; strong communication and computer skills are important assets.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited occupational therapy program.
• Current Iowa OT license and CPR/BLS.
• Valid driver’s license for work-related travel.
• Experience in specialty area preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates individuals with medical problems to assess functional activities.
• Develops and delegates individualized OT treatment plans to restore function.
• Monitors response to therapeutic interventions.
• Documents and bills for services in compliance with regulations.
• Communicates and collaborates with families and the interdisciplinary team.
• Demonstrates initiative to improve quality and patient experience.
• Manages resources to maintain efficient operations.
• Supports evidence-based practices within the team.
