Big Bend Woods Healthcare Center in Valley Park, Missouri seeks a dedicated Occupational Therapist to provide high-quality care on a PRN basis. You will develop individualized treatment plans, support clients with ADLs, and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to promote independence and quality of life.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in occupational therapy.
• Demonstrated expertise in geriatric occupational therapy.
• Experience supporting individuals with neurodevelopmental disorders, especially autism spectrum disorders.
• Familiarity with acute care environments (ICU) and post-acute facilities is desirable.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and clinical documentation standards.
• Experience across lifespan including geriatrics and occupational health is preferred.
• Strong background in assessments, treatment planning, and evidence-based practice.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive OT assessments evaluating physical, cognitive, and emotional needs.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on evidence-based practices.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) and independence.
• Provide pediatric-focused OT programs including early intervention and school-based services.
• Support discharge planning and care transitions with education for clients and caregivers.
• Collaborate with speech therapists, physical therapists, physicians and educators for holistic care.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation in EHR systems with confidentiality.
• Apply strategies for neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism spectrum disorders.
• Engage in case management to monitor progress and adjust plans as needed.
• Educate patients on therapy goals, progress, and home exercise programs.
