Job Summary

The Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology at Wellstar MCG Augusta is seeking a PRN board‑certified/board‑eligible Obstetrician‑Gynecologist to join our expanding Wellstar Medical Group OB Hospitalist Division. Our hospitalists practice in a collaborative academic environment alongside Maternal‑Fetal Medicine, Gynecologic Oncology, Urogynecology, Reproductive Endocrinology, General OB/GYN faculty, residents, medical students, certified nurse midwives, and advanced practice providers. As one of Georgia’s busiest obstetric centers, our physicians care for a diverse patient population while contributing to resident education, quality improvement, and innovative models of obstetric care.

Position Highlights

• Available to work at least 48 hours per month
• No outpatient clinic responsibilities

Clinical Responsibilities

Hospitalists provide comprehensive inpatient obstetric and gynecologic care including:

• Labor and delivery management
• Vaginal and cesarean deliveries
• Operative vaginal delivery
• Obstetric emergencies
• Postpartum care
• Gynecologic emergency consultations and surgeries (2‑3 gyn emergencies per 24h shift)
• Emergency Department consultations
• Supervision of OB Emergency Department
• Support of antepartum patients
• Collaboration with academic physicians, midwives, MFM, anesthesia, neonatology, emergency medicine, and nursing

Qualifications

Required

• MD or DO
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Obstetrics & Gynecology
• Eligible for unrestricted Georgia medical license
• Eligible for hospital privileges

• Prior teaching experience
• Experience in high‑volume obstetrics
• Maintains privileges for gynecologic surgery
