Job summary
The Coleman Institute for Addiction Medicine in Richmond, VA seeks an experienced Nurse Practitioner to join our recovery team in outpatient medical detox. You will provide assessments, perform physicals, and contribute to safe, compassionate detox protocols under the medical director.
This full-time role involves on-call and weekend shifts, collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, medication management, and close monitoring of withdrawal symptoms to support lasting recovery.
Qualifications
- DEA license and prescriptive authority are required.
- Experience in addiction medicine is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Participation in on-call rotation and weekend shifts.
- Conduct patient assessments and physicals.
- Develop and adjust detox protocols with the medical director and collaborating physicians.
- Monitor patient progress and manage withdrawal symptoms.
- Prescribe appropriate medications as needed.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure safety and comfort.
