Job summary

Harbor House Chemical Dependency Services in Jackson, MS seeks a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join the residential treatment team on a part-time/PRN schedule. You will provide compassionate, trauma-informed nursing care to individuals in recovery and support a contracted VA unit.

Responsibilities include nursing assessments, medication administration, care plan collaboration, patient education, and accurate EMR documentation.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program (no waiver).
• Current Mississippi LPN license.
• Current CPR and First Aid certification; Crisis Intervention or De-escalation (may be obtained upon hiring).
• Working knowledge of behavioral healthcare, trauma-informed care, and alcohol/drug addiction.

• Perform comprehensive nursing assessments with sensitivity to each patient
• Administer medications and monitor responses with dignity
• Collaborate with physicians and the treatment team to develop individualized care plans
• Provide education on medications, diagnoses, and discharge plans
• Document care accurately in EMR including eMAR while protecting privacy
• Respond to acute distress with de-escalation and crisis support
• Offer in-service training and coaching to staff in a strengths-based manner
• Maintain a safe, clean, welcoming environment

Provide compassionate, trauma-informed care to individuals on their recovery journey.

Harbor House Chemical Dependency Services is seeking a skilled and empathetic Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)to join our residential treatment team. In this role, you will deliver nursing care grounded in respect, safety, and collaboration, supporting individuals in recovery from substance use disorders, including those in our contracted VA unit.

What You'll Do

• Perform comprehensive nursing assessments with sensitivity to each patient's history, needs, and lived experience
• Administer medications and monitor patient responses and side effects with careful attention to comfort and dignity
• Collaborate with physicians, clinicians, and the treatment team to develop individualized, person-centered care plans
• Provide clear, non-judgmental education on medications, diagnoses, and discharge plans
• Document care accurately in electronic medical records (including eMAR) while maintaining patient privacy and confidentiality
• Respond calmly and compassionately to patients in acute distress, using de-escalation and crisis support skills
• Offer in-service training and coaching to staff in a supportive, strengths-based manner
• Help maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment that promotes healing and trust

What You'll Bring
