Job summary

Mederi Caretender's Hospice, part of the LHC Group and within the Optum family, is seeking a C-IHS Per Diem Music Therapist to enhance patient care through approved therapeutic modalities. You will support the hospice mission, coordinate with families and the care team, and document services accurately.

The role emphasizes compassionate interaction, adherence to care plans, and professional standards in a per diem capacity with competitive hourly pay.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or undergraduate equivalency from an AMTA-approved program.
• Current CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional music therapy within scope and policies.
• Interact compassionately with patient and family.
• Assist hospice program and patient/family per activities plan.
• Contribute to care plan and attend interdisciplinary meetings as needed.
• Communicate availability and schedule changes to supervisor.
• Accurately document services per agency instructions.

As a C-IHS Per Diem Music Therapist, you play a vital role in enhancing the quality of care for patients and their families. Through direct patient care, you support the hospice agency's mission of delivering compassionate, high-quality services that make a meaningful difference in people's lives.

Primary Responsibilities:

• C-IHS (Complementary Integrative Health Services) Music Therapists provide professional, approved therapeutic modalities to patients within his/her scope
  of practice and agency policies and procedures, which may include licensure, registration, and/or certification
• Interacts with patient and family compassionately
• Provides assistance to the hospice program and/or patient/family in accordance with designated activities
• Provides input towards the plan of care and interdisciplinary group meetings, as applicable and needed
• Communicates availability and schedule changes to supervisor
• Accurately documents services provided as trained and instructed by the hospice agency
• Mature, non-judgmental, caring, people-oriented individual, who is supportive of the hospice concept of care

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or undergraduate equivalency from an AMTA-approved college or university program
• Current CPR certification

Preferred Qualifications:

• Masters, or Doctoral degree from an AMTA-approved college or
  university program.
• AMTA Board Certification
• Minimum One year of practice in music therapy
• Minimum 6 months of experience with hospice patients, families, or similar populations

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The hourly pay for this role will range from $20.38 to $36.44 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
