Qualifications

• ARRT (R) or ARRT (MR) or ARMRIT certification.
• State license if applicable.
• CPR certification required.
• 3 months supervised MRI clinical scanning experience or enrolled in MRI training program.
• Technologists registered in other modalities: 3 months supervised MRI clinical scanning experience OR currently enrolled for more than 6 months in an accredited MRI training program.
• MR registered technologist RT(MR) or ARMRIT: No experience required.
• Ability to work at multiple locations.
• Organizational and multi-tasking skills.
• Basic knowledge of computer applications and programs.
• The COVID-19 vaccination may be a condition of employment.
• Local travel may be required.
• Associate’s Degree or equivalent experience.
• Registry in Magnetic Resonance by the ARRT.
• One year of Magnetic Resonance Imaging experience.

Job description

As an MRI Technologist, you are responsible for patient safety and the performance of high-quality MR studies, on site and/or remote. Ensures effective communication with radiologists, team members, patients, and customers, especially in a mobile environment. When required, trains and/or orients new technologists, Patient Coordinators, and/or MR Technologist Assistants.

Specific duties include, but are not limited to:

• Responsible for patient safety, including pre-screening for contraindications, aseptic injection technique, and may require remote MR Technologist oversight.
• Produces high-quality diagnostic images. Operation of multiple MR systems may be required.
• Demonstrates the ability to use all communication channels to address concerns, solve problems, and resolve conflicts.
• Effectively communicates with customers and radiologists.
• Trains and/or orients new technologists, patient coordinators, and MR Technologist Assistants, on site and/or remote.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent experience.
• ARRT (R) or ARRT (MR) or ARMRIT as allowable by contract in lieu of ARRT.
• State license, if applicable.
• CPR Certification.
• Technologists registered in other modalities: 3 months supervised MRI clinical scanning experience OR currently enrolled for more than 6 months in an accredited MRI training program.
• MR registered technologist RT(MR) or ARMRIT: No experience required.
• Ability to work at multiple locations.

Preferred:

• Associate’s Degree or equivalent experience.
• Registry in Magnetic Resonance by the ARRT.
• One year of Magnetic Resonance Imaging experience.

Physical Requirements:

• Exposure to outside weather conditions during transport of patients if working on a mobile unit.
• Exposure to strong magnetic fields, blood, body fluids, infectious and communicable diseases when interacting with patients.
• More than 50% of the time: sit, stand, walk; repetitive movements; communicate with patients.
• Less than 50% of the time: stoop, kneel, crawl, climb, balance, lift/move non-ambulatory patients.
