Livingston HealthCare is seeking a Medical Assistant to support the delivery of patient care under general supervision. The role collaborates with the medical provider to meet patient needs, including preparing equipment and assisting during treatment, examination, and testing.

The ideal candidate has current BLS certification or will obtain within 6 months, and a willingness to pursue Limited Scope of Practice in Radiology within 1 year.

Qualifications

  • Confidentiality and discretion in handling patient information.
  • Excellent customer service skills for diverse patients.
  • Current BLS certification or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.
  • Willingness to obtain Limited Scope of Practice in Radiology within 1 year.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares equipment and assists provider during treatment, examination, and testing.
  • Records vital signs (weight, BP, pulse, height).
  • Administers immunizations and treatments under supervision.
  • Oversees patient registration processes.
  • Cleans supplies and prepares sterilization offsite.
  • Maintains and reviews patient records and charts.
  • Responds to and triages incoming phone calls.
  • Performs CLIA waived testing.
  • Performs EKGs.
  • Obtains blood samples via venipuncture and capillary puncture.
  • Instructs patients on proper urine sample collection.
  • Obtains throat and nasopharyngeal samples.
  • Completes required educational competencies.
  • Attends mandatory in-service classes.
  • Attends at least 90% of nursing staff meetings.
  • Accepts accountability for actions and participates in Performance Improvement.
