Job summary

A healthcare provider in Smithfield, NC, is seeking a Part-Time Medical Assistant (PRN). The ideal candidate will assist providers in delivering quality medical care, handle patient triage, document vital signs, and support the transition to electronic patient records. Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience working in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, etc.).
• Prior Medical Assisting experience or education is beneficial, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assisting Provider(s) in the care of patients to assure optimal delivery of medical care.
• Triage patients promptly and in line with clinic procedures.
• Document vital signs, weight, and updates to patient’s medical history.
• Perform lab tests in compliance with clinical guidelines.
• Manage digital patient records and support transition to electronic systems.
• Prepare examination rooms for patient appointments.
• Administer prescribed medications under provider supervision.
• Assist healthcare providers during patient examinations.
• Position patients for x-rays following provider directives.
• Help monitor and manage medical inventory.
